Name: Mikaela Banes Door: door pass Canon: Transformers (bayverse) Canon Point: post revenge of the fallen, after her breakup with sam. right before dark of the moon. Age: 21 Appearance: here History: here CR AU (Optional): n/a Personality: Positive Trait: Loyal Mikaela is incredibly loyal to the people she cares about in her life. When she decides you're someone she can trust, someone she can bring into her inner circle, she treasures that and will fight to the death for you. When she was younger, she adored her dad and when there was no babysitter available, he'd take her on 'jobs' with him - meaning, stealing cars. She has a juvenile record because she refused to turn him in. Without Mikaela's testimony, her old man only did a few years in a low level prison. Once she decides Sam isn't an asshole, she joins him in the fight to save earth - more than once. She throws herself into danger without thinking, jumps into the line of fire to help save Bumblebee in TF2007, and in RotF, she goes traipsing across the world with Sam to help stop the Fallen, running through the deserts of Egypt to stop the Decepticons. Negative Trait: Reckless That said, it's not a stretch to say that Mikaela's loyalty and willingness to fight renders her completely reckless. When the Decepticons attack Mission City, Nevada, Mikaela doesn't flee with the civilians. She refuses to leave Bumblebee, instead busting the window of a tow truck and hotwiring it so that she can get him the hell out of there. She argues with Lennox and tells him point blank "I'm not leaving until I get Bumblebee out of here," insistent to the point he just gives up. Even once she gets Bee on the truck, she doesn't leave - instead, it's a joint effort between her mad crazy driving in reverse while the autobot shoots to take down a Decepticon. In a war zone. With her makeup still intact. Boss. She often doesn't think too hard on the consequences of things like this before she acts; Mikaela's more of a do-er instead of a sit around and 'let's think about this' kind of person. She also hacks up poor Frenzy with a power saw, despite his razor blades for hands. Negative Trait: low self esteem/self worth Mikaela is a beautiful girl with, for some reason, wildly low self esteem. She alludes to it herself that she has a 'weakness for guys with big arms', and in dating Trent, she proves her point. She asks to drive his truck and he tells her to get in the backseat (wtf, bruh), and while she snips at him that she's not his little bunny, he looks completely unaffected and says "okay. you'll call me," as if this is a fight that they've had before. She makes it more clear when she tells Sam she's been in this situation before; "I can't believe that I'm here right now. Here, in this situation, this same situation I'm always in, I don't know. I guess I have a weakness for hot guys, for tight abs and really big arms." (poor megan. what terrible lines) She doesn't feel like she has any value other than her looks, and only dates these men because they compliment her, because they're the right kind of 'attractive'. She's learning this isn't the case, obviously, though it's slow going. She puts on a great front, only cracking that one time, but deep down, she feels worthless and empty. She wants something life shattering to happen to her, and when she meets Sam, it finally does. Negative Trait: Anger Mikaela does have a bit of a temper on her that can be fairly easily snapped when someone hits a nerve. She doesn't often talk about herself or the things she's been through in regards to her record, her father, and her home life, preferring to bottle that up and keep those emotions hidden. A person can only do that for so long until it bursts out of them, and when she finally snaps, she can sometimes be harsh with her words. When they are apprehended by Sector Seven and Agent Simmons is needling them, she finally snaps at him and says he's pissy because he needs to get back to guarding the mall. In early drafts of the script (which I use since it does flesh her out more than what we actually get, thanks Michael Bay), when she dumps bonehead Trent, she calls his ass out, saying "daddy bought that car for you," and to find someone else to patronize, because she is not his little bunny. Another great example in early drafts is when Sam learns about her record, he says she's "totally screwed up", and she immediately fires back and asls how he'd like it if she called him a runt for not making the football team. Her words can be biting - ultimately forgivable because she isn't cruel, but when needled and angered, she can say things she doesn't always mean (or worse, things she does). Powers and Abilities: * She's a mechanic, so she knows the ins and outs of cars and bikes, tools, etc, etc. She knows more than I know. #google * She can speak passable Decepticon by adjusting her larynx, according to the novelization. The only rationalization I (and others) have been able to come up for this is that she held onto the Allspark splinter for some time, and it affected her similarly (though not as severely) to how it affected Sam. * Can hotwire vehicles and drive 'em like she stole 'em. (she probably did) Inventory: * allspark splinter - This splinter activated the knowledge the All Spark left in Sam's head in Revenge of the Fallen, and turned his kitchen appliances into Appliancebots which were destroyed by Bumblebee. Later, the splinter was used to bring Jetfire out of stasis lock. In canon, being around it/shocked by it will leave the person with after effects -- seeing symbols and things that aren't really there (possible effect of mild radiation poisoning, the Autobots are actually radioactive, confirmed in TF2007), and the ability to speak/read Decepticon/Autobot. I'd love for this to start affecting her nice and slow, if possible, eventually urging her towards being a kind of machinery empath with a psychic ability to sense the 'emotions' or 'feelings' of anything mechanical that she touches. Basically, diagnose a problem without running diagnostics if that makes sense. Nothing game breaking, just entertaining. * purse * a Zune with music up until 2011 on it Samples: thinking communicating 1 communicating 2 |
